MISSOURI -- The National Weather Service has postponed Tuesdays state wide tornado drill in Missouri due to the threat of rain.  The drill has been rescheduled for Thursday, March 10, at 1:30 p.m.

Tuesday is Tornado Awareness Day which coincides with Severe Weather Awareness Week in Missouri.  The goal of the week long program is simple, to save lives.  Students will spend the week learning some of the signs that severe weather is on the way as well as how to prepare for them well in advance.

Other themes include talking about severe thunderstorms, flash flooding and NOAA weather radios.  Severe Weather Awareness Week will conclude on Friday.
