OTTUMWA, IOWA -- A Thursday evening house fire in Ottumwa led to the arrest of a 12-year-old and three teenagers.
At approximately 8:25 p.m. Thursday, the Ottumwa Fire and Police Departments responded to a house fire at 605 Ellis Avenue in Ottumwa.
Firefighters put the fire out, and their investigation revealed the fire was intentionally set.
Further investigation prompted police to arrest four juveniles Friday afternoon.
The young suspects are all from Ottumwa.
They are Michael R. Lippincott, 15, Montana F. Harland, 12, Christopher T. Denham, 15, and Justin D. Henderson, 15.
The four are charged with Joint Criminal Conduct/1st-Degree Arson in connection with the house fire.
The suspects face additional charges in another incident.
Police said the four juveniles slashed several sets of car tires around Agassiz School in Ottumwa on Thursday evening.
In that case the four are charged with Joint Criminal Conduct/4th-Degree Criminal Mischief.
The suspects were all transported to the juvenile detention facility in Lee County, Iowa.
