BLOOMFIELD,IOWA -- KTVO has learned of an audit investigation in Davis County.
The audit involves money belonging to the Bloomfield Volunteer Fire Department. A meeting was held last night for County Attorney Rick Lynch to discuss his evidence.
However, Lynch instead gave few details and told residents the information is inconclusive. He says he will get the state auditor involved.
"I've made a determination as County Attorney that I'm not going to share that document with anybody here tonight. I'm going to take that document;it's already been done so turned over to the Attorney General's office and to the state auditors office. And they're going to do a complete state audit on that. What I've read its very inconclusive."
Lynch says the state audit should take about two months to complete. A public meeting will be held tonight at six in the Bloomfield City Council chambers to interview and hire a new fire chief. Stay tuned to KTVO for more details.
