KIRKSVILLE, MO --
The City of Kirksville is dealing with the aftermath of Tuesday night's winter weather.

The Emergency Operations Center was shut down at noon, but the work was far from over.

Authorities spent the day working on rescue situations.

If needed, the EOC will be re-opened. Officials say it was a busy night at the center.

“We had representatives in there from the city, from the county, in constant contact with the road crews be that county, city, state, state patrol, and I've not seen a situation similar to last night's that had as much inter-agency cooperation,” said Police Chief Jim Hughes.

Residents are still encouraged to stay off the streets so crews can continue to plow.

With cold temperatures creeping in, Hughes encourages you to check on your neighbors.
