KIRKSVILLE, MO -- A Kirksville attorney will not be allowed to practice law for at least six months after a ruling handed down Tuesday by the Missouri Supreme Court.
The state's high court ruled that Seth Shumaker, who has a law office on South Baltimore Street in Kirksville, violated certain "Rules of Professional Conduct" and should be punished.
The court suspended Shumaker from practicing law for a period of six months effective immediately.
At the end of the six months, Shumaker may petition the Missouri Supreme Court for reinstatement of his license to practice law.
Shumaker was also assessed a fee of $1,000 to go to the Advisory Committee Fund. View the Missouri Supreme Court documents related to this case by clicking here.
