DAVENPORT, IOWA (AP) -- Davenport police have filed more charges against a jail inmate who fled from an Iowa City hospital and set off on an 18-hour crime spree that authorities say included multiple carjackings and subsequent crashes.
Anthony Koehlhoeffer was arrested last Wednesday in Bettendorf after crashing one of several vehicles he's believed to have stolen while on the lam.
Koehlhoeffer, who was being held on robbery charges, escaped the night before while receiving court-order treatment at University Hospitals and Clinics.
The Ottumwa Courier says Davenport police have filed robbery and theft charges against Koehlhoeffer in Scott County. He has already been charged with being a fugitive and eluding authorities.
Koehlhoeffer remains in the Scott County jail. A telephone call to his attorney, Timothy Tupper, on Tuesday was not immediately returned.
