OTTUMWA, IOWA -- Press Release from the City of Ottumwa

Work on the Jefferson Street Viaduct that was scheduled for this week has been postponed due to cold temperatures.

The Jefferson Street Bridge Repair project started earlier this fall.

During the final stage, the bridge will be jacked up and lifted from the pier on the south side of river, adjacent to the Bridgeview Center, to allow new concrete to be placed beneath the trusses.

This work will require the bridge to be closed for about two weeks.

Once temperatures warm enough for the concrete work, the project will resume.
