Press release from the Fairfield CVB
(FAIRFIELD, Iowa) – The Fairfield Iowa Convention and Visitors Bureau is accepting applications for the 2011 grant program through Friday, December 17. The goal of the Bureau’s grant fund is to assist qualified organizations in providing excellence in cultural, civic, and educational programs that attract visitors to the Fairfield area.
The general purpose of each grant is to assist the organization in enhancing the quality of the event experience and increase the number of visitors attracted to the area and further enhancing Fairfield’s reputation for providing engaging cultural experiences.
“The Bureau is excited to introduce our 2011 grant program that serves Fairfield area organizations and their respective events,” said Rustin Lippincott, Executive Director, Fairfield Iowa Convention and Visitors Bureau. “The Bureau’s grant program assists Fairfield and Jefferson County organizations in providing excellent cultural, civic and educational programs which attract visitors, increase the quality of life for our residents and provide exposure for Fairfield as a destination.”
The Bureau will announce grant recipients by December 31 for 2011 events and activities. The grant program distributes financial assistance following the submission of receipts and invoices, and review of grantee compliance of conditions set forth in the Bureau’s grant application. The Bureau grant program is supported from Fairfield’s lodging tax, created in 2001 by popular ballot.
“The 2010 CVB grant program will have assisted 29 different events by end of the calendar year, contributing to the Fairfield hotel-motel tax revenue,” said Lippincott. “The Bureau, along with the grant funds, offers assistance in marketing, public relations and event planning to grant recipients.”
