(VAN BUREN COUNTY, Iowa) - An audit released on Thursday has revealed a case of embezzlement in the Van Buren County Schools.

The report by Nolte, Corman and Johnson, a CPA firm out of Newton shows that between July of 2006 and May 1 of 2010, nearly $37,000 disappeared from nutrition funds at the High School Center.

The report accuses former employee Teresa McIntosh of misappropriating the money during that period.

We spoke with Jefferson County Attorney Tom Dille, he told us that charges have not been filed, but that they are pending.

As for the district, Superintendent Lisa Beames says McIntosh no longer works for the district and that the school is just trying to move forward.
