KIRKSVILLE, MO --
A major expansion project is on the docket for the Northeast Missouri Health Council.
The health council received a $3.8 million to increase dental and primary services.
The council is exploring the option of partnering with A.T. Still University, if its dental school becomes a reality in Kirksville.
A new dental facility would create more health care jobs, as well as those brought in by the construction work.
“All of these are going to benefit the community from a health standpoint and from an economic standpoint and it's just another example I think of folks in Kirksville being resourceful, reaching out, trying to find new ways to keep our economy and our community getting better,” said Andy Grimm, Northeast Missouri Health Council CEO.
The grant was awarded through the Department of Health and Human Services. The project must be completed within two years. The new dental facility will have the latest top of the line technology.
