OTTUMWA, IOWA -- Kids, grab your costumes and make a float!

It’s almost time for the annual Kiddie Parade, which will take place Friday evening, Oct. 1.

“We started Monday with registrations and that pretty much goes on all week,” said Suzie Morrison, Vice President Loan Officer at South Ottumwa Savings Bank. “Then on Friday, we will start to gather down at the Washington St. parking lot at five o'clock, and then the parade actually starts at six.”

You can register one of three ways, by either visiting the South Ottumwa Savings Bank on Church St., the office on N. Court St., or you can do so online at www.sosb-ia.com.

The event has been taking place for 20 years.

“It's just an opportunity for kids, ages zero clear up through fifth grade, to participate in a parade,” said Morrison. “They can have costumes, floats and group categories, pets. So, it's just something fun for the kids in the community."

Morrison says Friday should bring nice weather, and she hopes everyone comes out to participate in the festivities and enjoy the parade.
