KIRKSVILLE, MO --

A top Missouri official is forging ahead with the lawsuit to overturn the federal health care law.

Lt. Governor Peter Kinder has amended the complaint and should receive an answer from the Department of Justice within a week or two.

He's optimistic to get a hearing in front of the federal judge this fall.

“I have the resources to go all the way to the united states supreme court, and we like our chances to be able to overturn the arrogant, overreaching federal health control law that was passed in a corrupt manner and should never have been passed,” Kinder said.

Kinder says the health care law will hurt senior citizens the most.

He says all 114 counties in Missouri passed Proposition C, saying they want to make their own health care decisions.
