KIRKSVILLE, MO -- On Wednesday, the Adair County Commissioners set the tax rates for 2010 in Adair County. The tax rates are set to produce the revenue required from the 2010 property tax.
“For general revenue, there will not be an increase because in the last several years, we haven’t taken a levy against general revenue so there still will be no property taxes against our general revenue” said Adair County Clerk Sandy Collop. “For road and bridge, there’s going to be a slight increase in the rate.”
The tax rate for road and bridge went up from .2687 in 2009 to .2703 in 2010; an increase of $.016. Collop said the increase could be compared to taxpayers paying an additional $.10 per $1,000 valuation.
