MACON, MO -- Classes are ready to begin at the new Central Methodist University campus in Macon. CMU in Fayette, Missouri, and the City of Macon have refurbished the old YMCA building using $55,000 in grant money from the USDA. The remodel created three new classrooms and a laboratory. Macon City Administrator Allen Muncy said the addition of an educational institution is an investment for the community.
“We knew we had to invest in the cities knowledge because knowledge is some of the best things you could have if you’re looking for expansion and future growth” said Muncy. “So we’re investing in our future here and trying to be a well rounded community.”
Classes will begin on August 23. Partnering with CMU in the newly refurbished building will be Moberly Area Community College.
