KIRKSVILLE, MO --

The newly established MOMS Club in Kirksville met for the first time Tuesday.

"Moms Offering Moms Support" is a group for stay-at-home mothers and their kids. The first event meeting and greet in Brashear Park.

11 moms signed up and talked about the values and beliefs of the club.

“I was going to actually go online and try to research and see if there was a club like this that I could find in Kirksville. We moved here over Memorial Day and I'd always worked in the medical field, sold medical equipment and so this is my first time being a stay-at-home mom and it's hard when you're not out working, not out meeting people all the time,” said Julie Barber, Club Member.

The club is planning on field trips to the fire station and a local farm, along with in-home play dates.

To find out more about the club, call Melissa at 816-830-6185 or e-mail her at melissavaltos@yahoo.com.  You can also visit www.momsclub.org for more information.
