DES MOINES, IOWA (AP) -- Gov. Chet Culver is asking federal officials to look into changing flood management plans at Iowa's four reservoirs.

Culver asked President Barack Obama to include funding for the studies in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' budget for the 2012 fiscal year.

The reviews could cost as much as $8 million.

The operating plans for some of the reservoirs at Saylorville, Coralville, Red Rock and Rathbun haven't significantly altered for decades.

Corps of Engineers spokesman Ron Fournier says each review could last up to three years.
