Charges filed in stolen fireworks case

KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- A northeast Missouri teen is behind bars facing a felony charge in connection with the theft of fireworks.

Marcus Estrada, 18, of Kirksville is charged with felony stealing in connection with the theft of  over $700 worth of fireworks from Compton’s Fireworks in Kirksville.

This arrest is in conjunction with thefts of fireworks from Compton’s as well as the El Kadir Shrine Club fireworks tent.

The investigation by Kirksville Police is continuing, and several more arrests are expected.

Estrada was already in custody on a previous felony charge.

His bond on the stealing charge is $25,000 cash only.
