JEFFERSON CITY, MO. (AP) -- A special session of the Legislature to approve automaker tax breaks and state pension changes cost Missouri taxpayers more than $120,000.
Figures provided to The Associated Press by the Missouri House and Senate show almost all of the money went toward daily living expenses and vehicle mileage reimbursements for lawmakers.
Smaller amounts also were spent on staff and supplies.

The figures don't include additional money spent by Gov. Jay Nixon to travel around the state promoting the automaker incentives and holding bill signing ceremonies.
The special legislative session began June 24 and ended last Wednesday. Lawmakers kept down costs by holding full House and Senate sessions only when they expected votes.
