KIRKSVILLE, MO -- The Northeast Missouri Community Action Agency is now offering services to more people.
NEMO residents can stop by Hy-Vee in Kirksville to sign up for services at the agency's booth. Low wage earners can sign up for help with everything from weatherizing homes to energy assistance
“We want to go and try to focus our attention on some people that make a little bit higher of an income. Our income guidelines have expanded so we can see a variety of incomes now and we want to get the word out that we do have services available to people that are working full time,” said Mindy Garrett, Emergency Services Coordinator.
The Benefits Enrollment Center in Hy-Vee is funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment act.
It’s a joint effort with several other community agencies, which include RAIL, Adair County Health Department, Kirksville Regional Office, Area Agency on Aging, Social Security Administration, Lifeline Pregnancy Center, and the U.S. Department of Ag Rural Development.
The booth will be open Tuesdays through Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
