KIRKSVILLE, MO -- Future leaders in Kirksville had a chance to meet and greet Friday night.

The newly formed Kirksville Young Professionals group held its first ever event at the West Winery at Jackson Stables.

Professionals ages 21 to 40 had the opportunity to mingle as they enjoyed music and food.

“The group was started because we wanted people to come to Kirksville and have a reason to stay to Kirksville. The smaller towns, you know people like to move to cities, so the idea was that we wanted to give young people a reason to stay in Kirksville and so the benefit is to come and meet people so you know people in town and can make personal connections to have a reason to stay,” said Rebecca Charles, KVYP.

KVYP is planning to hold several more events throughout the year. The next event will most likely be a "Lunch and Learn" with a guest speaker from the business community. If you’d like to know more about the group, send an email to kirksvilleyp@gmail.com.
