BLOOMFIELD, IOWA -- Thursday was the last day of school for some heartland students. KTVO followed the Pedersen twins on their first day of school and we checked in on their last day to see their progress.
Even though the Pedersen twins are going to miss their friends, Thursday was still a big day for Grant and Reece.
“I kind of like today because it was the last day of school,” Grant said.
However the boys definitely learned a lot this year and have their favorite subjects.
“My two favorite is arts and P.E. and music and I think, what’s the last one, library,” Grant said.
“I like doing science stuff,” Reece added.
"You don't even do science Reece," Grant interrupted
Reece reinforced his preference, "I like doing science stuff."
Their dad said he has seen a big difference between the first day of school and the last.
“It’s just been a really neat year to watch the boys grow,” said their father Joel Pedersen.
“And by this point of the year they are very comfortable with each other, with me. You know all the anxiety at the beginning of the year is gone and they’ve just, you can tell they have grown up so much,” said Reece’s teacher Mrs. Ray.
Their teachers filled the last day with fun activities. The will also be missed.
“They both talked about their teachers and how their going to miss their teachers,” Joel Pedersen said.
“I got Mrs. Piper a present,” Grant said.
“I got Mrs. Ray a present over there,” Reece said.
What did you get her?
“I am not telling her. It’s a secret,” Reece said.
The boys say they will have a busy summer. As for their first year of school, they passed with flying colors.
