Coast Guard: BP's 'Top Kill' Effort Blocking Oil Leak

BP has apparently succeeded in blocking the flow of oil into the Gulf of Mexico by pumping mud into its failed well at the seabed, the Coast Guard said today, while cautioning that the operation is not complete.

Des Moines teacher who showed video won't be charged

A Wright Elementary School teacher accused of showing an inappropriate video to students will not face criminal charges, Polk County Attorney John Sarcone decided Wednesday.

Belzer: County’s roads need time to heal
