OTTUMWA, IOWA -- One man was hospitalized this evening after rear-ending a minivan while riding his motorcycle.

Timothy Boyd, 52 of Ottumwa, was following behind Brandy Pryor, 25 also of Ottumwa, driving northbound on Highway 63.

Pryor slowed in her van to make a left onto Mary St. and Boyd did not notice her slowing down.

Boyd crashed his Harley Davidson into the back of the caravan.

Boyd was taken to the hospital complaining of pains in his leg. The extent of his injuries was not immediately available.

Pryor and the six passengers in her vehicle were unharmed.

Authorities said the vehicles were traveling “fairly slow” which helped minimize injuries.

The accident happened shortly after 6:00 Sunday evening.
