It was announced on May 20, 2010 that Roger Jones, executive director of the Ottumwa Economic Development Corporation (OEDC) will retire effective November 30, 2010. Mr. Jones has served as the executive director since December, 2007. Mr. Jones will complete his active duties as the director on June 15, 2010 and will continue as a consultant until his retirement date.  

During the transition, Mr. Jones will prepare the monthly publication, Trends, which tracks the economic activity of Ottumwa and the Wapello County area. This publication is available to the public at no charge. The publication can be viewed at www.ottumwadevelopment.org under the topic, “Facts”.

The Board of Directors of OEDC has announced that Cindy Woodbury will assume the responsibilities as the interim director. A search for a new director will begin immediately.

Richard Gaumer, President of OEDC stated, “The board appreciates Roger’s efforts on behalf of economic development in Ottumwa and Wapello County through these challenging economic times.”
