KIRKSVILLE, MO -- With Missouri’s budget recently being passed, it will likely affect different state agencies. Our fact finder team did some investigating on Tuesday to see what effect the state reduction in money would have on the Adair County Sheriff’s Office.
"There was one cut that came in through the state legislature and that was regarding the recoupment cost of individuals that are taken into D.O.C. (Department of Corrections) when they’re housed here at the sheriff’s office” Adair County Sheriff Robert Hardwick said. “We use to receive a recoupment of $22, well that’s now $19.58 so we did loose a little bit of money there."
Hardwick told our fact finder team, outside of the difference in housing state prisoners with the D.O.C., the Adair County Sheriff’s Office looks pretty good for the next fiscal year.
