OTTUMWA, IOWA -- More than 60 gathered Saturday afternoon for an interfaith prayer service and rally.
Many area religious leaders attended the service and led prayers from their faith.
Prayers were recited in English, Spanish, and Arabic.
Organizers said this event was to realize we are all one.
“We are gathering not necessarily as Christians, or Muslims, or Buddhists. We are gathering as human beings to ask, depending on our beliefs, for better treatment for human dignity and better respect for our people, our immigrants, that are coming to this country,” said Norma Rosales.
The service was held in coordination with other rallies across the United States against Arizona’s new immigration reform law.
