BLOOMFIELD, IOWA -- Davis County hospital opened the doors to show off their expansion work at the hospital.
Nearly finished, the $7.1 million project features 25 new beds, a new emergency room, hospice suites, two infant labor and delivery suites, and a new MRI service area.
Davis County Hospital CEO Deb Herzberg said this was a much needed project and it really helps emphasize patient privacy, something important and a focus of the hospital.
The expansion provided the opportunity to not do renovations while caring for patients.
“This space was totally open, we could come here, make it into all new patient rooms, two new obstetrical suites, and a brand new emergency room. Now we have separate entrances for (obstetrics), and acute (patient care area), and a separate entrance for E.R. patients,” Herzberg said.
The tentative opening date is set for the first week of June.
