The military science department at Truman State University hosted their annual Branch Orientation Day on Thursday. Cadets, students, and the public were invited to participate in events. They could sit in a brand new Humvee, check out a river crossing boat designed to keep floating bridges in the water, or repel off of the 45-foot tower.
Event organizer 2LT Chris Wilson said Branch Orientation Day is designed to educate citizens on every branch of the military.
"It’s for the community, the cadets, and the military science department just to come out and see the different branches of the military” said Wilson. “They may not know what all the branches do so this is an opportunity for them to find out. It’s also a good way for the community to get more acquainted with the military find out more about what the military actually does.”
