JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- It may be up to the Missouri Senate to save a bill aimed at overhauling the state's drunken driving laws.
The bill's sponsor in the House says the measure aimed at cracking down on repeat DUI offenders has been stalled by a mistake in an amendment added last week.
House Republican Bryan Stevenson of Webb City said Monday it could be too difficult procedurally to save his version of the bill. To get legislation passed some of his wording may be added to a similar bill in the Senate.
The House gave the bill initial approval after adding multiple amendments. One amendment inadvertently removed language increasing the penalties for drivers with a blood alcohol level of .15 or higher.
