JOHNSTON, IOWA (AP) -- A sendoff ceremony will be held on Sunday in Boone for about 65 Iowa Army National Guard soldiers being sent to Kosovo on a peacekeeping mission.

The soldiers are with Company C, 2nd Battalion, 147th Aviation, which flies and maintains UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters.

The unit was deployed during Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm in 1990-1991 and for Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2006-2007.

The guard says the soldiers will report to Camp Atterbury in Indiana for additional training before departing for Kosovo.

Sunday's sendoff is at 2 p.m. at the Des Moines Area Community College in Boone.
