FAIRFIELD, IOWA -- With just eight days left until the referendum, the Fairfield school board wanted to answer any questions residents had.
Voters and the school board filled the high school cafeteria to answer concerns about the upcoming vote on Tuesday April 6th. A presentation of financial information by Piper-Jaffray & Company helped explain how high taxes would increase if the measure is passed.
“Well I hope that [the presentation] from Piper Jaffray has been able to clear up most of the financial questions,” said Superintendent Don Achelpohl. “This isn’t just a last moment thing. The board and community have been in discussion on this for multiple years.”
The school district believes the story has received good coverage and is convinced voters will be informed when they go to the polls in April.
