KIRKSVILLE, MO -- Truman State University hosted their spring Career Expo on Wednesday. The Career Center sponsors the event once each semester. More than 40 regional and state employers traveled to Kirksville. They set up tables so that students could network with them about job and internship possibilities.
The Career Center says that the Career Expo is an excellent opportunity for all students, no matter what their year is in school. First year students are encouraged to network with employers and gain insights into career paths. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors seek out and apply for interviews.
Although the expo was informative, some students we talked with already have a back-up plan incase they are unable to find a job in the staggering economy after graduation.
“I am a little worried about finding a job” said Neil Gau, a student from Culver-Stockton College. “I actually decided that if I can't find a job, I'm going to go back to grad school to continue my education. Hopefully something will turn up though.”
