DOUDS, IOWA -- The United Methodist Church of Douds hosted a Benefit Concert for Haiti this weekend.

The Church brought in native folk musician Greg Brown for the benefit concert.

Organizers said the Church has never attempted something on such a large scale before, but everything came together really well.

Church officials said donation provided the event with zero expenses, maximizing the donations totals.

Musician Greg Brown donated his time and talent for the event as well.

“Well I think that’s a good thing.  It’s hard for us to imagine that kind of devastation. What if something like that were to happen around here?  It’s hard to imagine the extent of the devastation there,” said Brown.

Organizers say they wanted to do something to generate excitement and help Haiti.  The concert raised $3,600 dollars.
