MACON, MO -- On Thursday evening, just before 8:00PM, the Macon Police Department responded to a report of theft at Sydenstrickers.

“The report we had was a report of the individuals trying to steal a John Deere gator from Sydenstrickers” said Macon Police Chief Steve Olinger.  “They were driving a full sized 2001 Dodge van pulling a 20-foot enclosed trailer.  After the vehicle was stopped and the subjects were taken into custody, the van and trailer were transported back here to the police department.”

The three subjects are 41-year-old Albert Rubingh of Milan, Illinois, 34-year-old Thomas Brockman of Marcillius, Illinois, and 31-year-old John Reyes of Milan, Illinois.

The men were charged with three counts of felony stealing, possession of burglary tools, trespassing, property damage, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Reyes also received a summons for driving while intoxicated.

The subjects are being held in the Macon County Jail on a $100,000 cash only bond.

Olinger said the three men's sole intention was to drive from Illinois to Macon just to steal the John Deere equipment.
