Press release from the League of Women Voters and the Ottumwa Chamber of Commerce

The League of Women Voters of Ottumwa and the Greater Ottumwa Chamber of Commerce are co sponsoring Legislative forums at BridgeView Center beginning on Saturday February 6. All of the forums will begin at 9:30 AM.  The first Forum will end at 11:30 AM. 

The area legislators will begin the first forum by describing their views of pending legislation and what they plan to introduce or support.  Mary Gaskill, Keith Kreiman, Becky Schmitz, Curt Hanson and Kurt Swaim plan to participate.

The League and the Chamber co sponsor Legislative forums so that citizens can tell legislators of the issues they believe should be addressed in this shortened legislative session.  Legislators will have equal time to respond to all questions. Our elected representatives want to hear from citizens at these forums.

There is no cost to attend the forum. Coffee and tea will be provided.  Bridge View Center is accessible, and parking is easy.

Two additional forums are scheduled on Saturday March 6 and Saturday April 3.  Those forums will begin at 9:30 but will end at 11AM. The length of this year’s session will determine if the forum on April 3 is held.
