COLUMBIA, MO. (AP) -- Another large incoming freshman class has forced the University of Missouri-Columbia to again lease space from two private apartment complexes, despite opening three new residence halls.

Residential Life Director Frank Minor says with some residence halls closed or closing for renovations, the net gain on campus this fall will be only 350 beds.

The university has an additional 400 beds at Campus View apartments and another 200 beds at Campus Lodge apartments.

This year's incoming class is expected to be about 5,700, about 100 less than the record-breaking class last fall.
