MACON, MO --

A house fire leaves a local family with nothing.

Late Sunday night, the Macon Fire Department responded to a house fire at 102 Jackson Street. The house was recently purchased by Connie Wheeler and her son Shannon Burke. Wheeler told KTVO the two were in the process of fixing up the seven bedroom house.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but Wheeler says her guess would be the wiring. No one was in the house when it caught fire, and is considered to be a total loss.
