MILAN, MO --
The streets of Milan, Missouri were lined with people celebrating the 24th annual Old Timers event Saturday. This year a new committee organized the three day festival that started on Friday. Members say they expanded the schedule of events, adding a lot of new activities.
“The Old Timers has grown quite a bit this year with several things. They've never had a rodeo before here, we have not had street dances for the last several years with live bands. We have probably never had the blow-up toys for the kids to play on,” said Co-Chair Cary Maulsby.
Vendors and several different eating contests were also new additions this year. The Milan Old Timers Committee says they're looking forward to an even bigger and better celebration for the 25th year next Memorial Day weekend.
