KIRKSVILLE -- The walls of a local nursing home got a new artistic addition Thursday afternoon.
Kirksville Manor Care and some Truman art students held a ribbon cutting to celebrate the new art gallery in the hall of the nursing home.
The paintings were donated from various students from Truman.
KTVO caught up with a few students and their instructor to find out how this idea started.
"We're both in painting so we asked some of our fellow classmates to maybe donate some paintings and leave them up so it would be a monthly exchange of art on the walls like a real art gallery," said Truman student Kristina Sicuro.
“What we have here is a nice convergence of my students and their public service and dedication to the community, as well as their interest in art...so this seemed like a great opportunity," said Prof. John Bohac.
There were ten artists that donated paintings and about twenty paintings on display.
