FAIRFIELD, IOWA -- A teenager is behind bars for attempting to rob a Heartland bank.
Ninteen-year-old Jordan McKim-Crawford of Fairfield has pleaded guilty to robbing the Pilot Grove Savings Bank in Packwood, Iowa.
Jefferson County Attorney, Tim Dille, told KTVO that Crawford is now serving a ten year sentence.
Crawford and one other man stole about $18,000 from the bank back in October of 2007.
All of the money was recovered.
Crawford’s counterpart, Ross Thornton of Fairfield, was also sentenced to ten years in prison months ago.
County Attorney Dille said Crawford was supposed to be sentenced a while back, but he's been on the run and didn't show up for his sentencing.
Ottumwa police recently caught up with Crawford and arrested him in the City of Bridges.
Due to his disappearance, Crawford is also being sentenced to serve an additional five years after he pleaded guilty for Failure to Appear.
However, he's serving both sentences concurrently so he won’t see an additional jail time.
