FAIRFIELD, IOWA -- A stolen work of art has been returned to its rightful owner.

About a year ago Fairfield artist Suzanne Stryker reported a stolen painting to police.

It was the third of her paintings that had recently disappeared.

But now there's a bit of good news. One of them has been returned.

The watercolor painting of a red peony was found at the same restaurant it was stolen from.

It was stashed away out of sight and when the building's new owners were renovating they found the peony picture.

"I’m getting it reframed, I’m checking on the police to see if they want to do finger printing on it or not,” Stryker said.

Stryker even hired a private detective to help her find her stolen paintings.
