KIRKSVILLE, MO -- It's out with the old and in with the new...sheriff, that is.

Today we stopped by Sheriff Bob Hardwick's office to see how the transition into office is going so far. Hardwick tells KTVO he was hoping to have a meeting with Incumbent Sheriff Leonard Clark, but that didn't happen.

“I've accepted this transition as just this, a transition. We’re moving forward and I've been working on a lot of policies and procedures, meeting at my house and different locations. Just because I wasn't invited in here under the current administration, that doesn't mean things stop,” said Sheriff Hardwick.

Hardwick says the Sheriff's Department will be undergoing a lot of changes, some of which have already started. New policies are already in place for the new administration, like training and a code of conduct.
