KIRKSVILLE, MO -- 1500 cowboys and farmers filled the Kirksville Middle School at the 2008 Missouri Livestock Symposium.

The 8th annual Symposium featured booths and presentations from agriculture experts around the nation. Organizers tell KTVO the Symposium offers something for everyone.

“It's a producer targeted audience. Horse producers, beef cattle producers, sheep, meat goat producers, we have a section on stock dogs that we do, but then on top of that we have some really good people that are on the cutting edge of renewable resources,” said Regional Livestock Specialist.

The event also featured live animal exhibits, and a classic tractor contest. The two day event wrapped up Saturday night with a concert by country music star John Anderson. The planning committee says they already have some things planned for next year's Livestock Symposium.
