KIRKSVILLE, MO -- The Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Kirksville has a new face.

Father Chris Cordes was assigned to Mary Immaculate in June and moved here from Montgomery City, Missouri. And while he's the new priest, he's no stranger to Mary Immaculate or Kirksville.

“I went to college here 20 years ago for 4 years so it's kind of coming back to one of my homes, and I kept in touch over the years with people I know here and it's been good to come back and meet people I didn't know and become part of the parish. I've really enjoyed, it's been a good move for me,” said Father Cordes.

Father Cordes has been a priest for 13 years. He never knows how long he's going to be in one place, but he says he hopes to be in Kirksville for a long time.
