ELDON, IOWA -- Cardinal Community School District teachers and administrators took the day Wednesday to download new technology into their brains.

Teachers spent Tuesday and Wednesday learning all about their brand new Apple Book laptop computers that they recently recieved.

Pretty soon, teachers will use their new knowledge to educate students in grades six through 12 on how to use their very own Apple laptop computers.Hundreds of laptops will be distributed to the students on Dec. 17.

Administrators signed on to the Apple program to help prepare students for the future.

"We’re relatively high free and reduced lunch. Fifty-five percent of our kids fall into that category, so a lot of our students do not have access to technology. So, this is going to give them that access and hopefully give them opportunities as they move into college age and to the work world to be more prepared," said Cardinal High School Principal Deron Durflinger.

Teachers plan to incorporate the new technology into their daily lessons.
