KIRKSVILLE, MO -- Sunday members of the First Baptist Church in Kirksville celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday a little early with their annual meal. The church holds a Thanksgiving dinner every year to enjoy food and fellowship with each other.

Pastor Marty Joplin says it's important for the church family to spent time breaking bread together.

“The time that they spend together is very special because you learn something about people when you put your feet under the table with them and you just talk about things that are casual, and it's when you really start to know them, what's on their heart, what's on their mind,” said Pastor Joplin.

After the Thanksgiving celebration, the church began to assemble and build their living Christmas tree.
