Below are brief details of statewide propostions and Constitutional Amendments on Tuesday's ballots:
Missouri-
Propostion A
would remove the $500 loss-limits in Missouri casinos, cap the number of casinos in the state and increase gambling taxes. Some of the additional money would be earmarked for public schools.
Proposition B
would establish a state home health care council with the goal of improving training and recruiting home health care workers.
Propostion C
would require investor owned utilities in the state to invest at least 15 percent of their energy portfolios on renewable energy, such as wind and solar, by 2021. The is a restriction of no more than one-percent rate increase to consumers for this renewable energy.
Constitutional Amendment 1
would make English the official language at all governmental meetings in Missouri.
Constitutional Amendment 4
would limit the availability of grants and loans to public water and sewer districts and remove a cap on available funding and existing restrictions on disbursements.
Iowa-
Constitutional Amendment Question
to change the language in the state constitution that describes a person who cannot legally vote from “idiot or insane person” to “a person adjudged mentally incompetent to vote.”
