KIRKSVILLE, MO --
There was a roar of motorcycle engines in Kirksville Sunday courtesy of the Freedom of Road Riders on their annual Salvation Army Toy Ride.
A procession of 108 bikers delivered toys and food to the Salvation Army for the 23rd year. The Freedom Riders take part in the annual toy ride to benefit the less fortunate as the holidays draw near.
“This has been a great turnout, great weather. We'd love everybody to come out. You don't have to be a member of Freedom of Road Riders, if you want to donate, help the community out, that's all we ask,” said Public Relations Officer Larry Olson.
Tables and tables of food and toys filled the Salvation Army, and the Freedom of Road Riders presented a check to Major Hogg to buy extra supplies for the needy.
