KIRKSVILLE, MO -- Members of the 7240th Army Reserve Unit of Kirksville gathered at A.T. Still University Saturday to brush up on their CPR skills.
Anyone wishing to keep their CPR certification up to date must take the course every two years. While CPR is a skill everyone should learn, it's especially important for members of the military to keep their skills fresh.
“For the reserve unit that we're working with, it's really important for them to be prepared. A number of the soldiers have been deployed out of this unit to various places, so they do a lot of ongoing training and CPR is just one piece of that,” said Janet Head, KCOM Training Center Coordinator.
The course certified about 40 soldiers.
