BLOOMFIELD, IOWA -- February is the month to raise awareness about heart health, and if you're concerned about your cholesterol, glucose levels or just your overall heart health, the Davis County Hospital is here to help.

The hospital is offering their annual Heart Healthy Tests Thursday, February 14 and Friday, February 15 from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

The event will offer a lipid profile, which tests cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL and glucose. Anyone with pre-existing conditions or a family history of heart disease should be especially vigilant with testing, but anyone is welcome to come.

"The lipid testing does a lot to check for cardiovascular disease for your heart and it's just good to know those precursors in advance than before it gets too far away from you and then you have a harder time recovering and getting it to a normal, therapeutic level," said Lezah Cline, Lead Lab Technician at Davis County Hospital.

The test costs $35 paid by check or cash.

To make an appointment, call 664-7137.
